SpeakOut is a tiny application that was developed for converting texts into speech. The program is extremely easy-to-use. Its main window contains a special text field and a range of simple commands. There are two ways of inputting a text. A user can manually type any text fragment or paste it from the clipboard. Another way is to open a text file. When you open any text file, the text from this file will be automatically placed into the text field. An interesting feature of SpeakOut is the ability of monitoring the clipboard. It means that the application automatically reads all the text from the clipboard. If quite a long text fragment is placed into the text field you can stop or pause the program’s reading. The program also has a special tray icon that can be used for opening the main window. The application’s main disadvantage is its boring design. The developers should have paid more attention to it.
